Attracting pollinators - butterflies, hummingbirds, bees - to your garden brings lasting joy to the whole family.
Some of our most cherished, lifelong memories begin in the backyard. As a child I spent hours identifying butterflies, watching them lay eggs, and following caterpillars as they fed, formed chrysalises, and emerged as butterflies. That quiet, patient wonder never left me; now I share it with my children so they, too, can feel the same awe.
Honeybees are nature's indispensable pollinators. My grandfather (Papaw) tended hives and, with my grandmother (Mamaw), harvested jars of golden honey from the kitchen table. From him I learned the sacred importance of bees - their role in pollinatoring our crops, trees and flowers - and the responsibility we have to protect them. Ever since, I've planted and preserved habitats that give them a safe haven.
Immersing yourself in a garden that supports pollinators creates both beauty and meaning. You can create those memories and conservation efforts too. We welcome the opportunity to support you in finding the right hosts plants, and watch a small, everyday miracle unfold in your own yard.
